Comprehensive measures for the improvement of national education systems the field of inland waterway transport throughout the Danube region bound to ensure subsequent provision of qualified personnel both onboard the vessels and in ports were described in the eight National Action Plans developed in the previous project NELI.

Accurate SWOT analysis of current status quo of education and training in IWT sector throughout South East Europe led to the identification of appropriate correction steps and possible financing sources to support implementation thereof.
